Research in Progress

This section of the guide is designed for costumers, stylists, academics and perfectionists who wish to understand or recreate the minutest detail of historic evening wear.  Euphemistically speaking it is the course material for a Master of Black Tie degree.  Pragmatically speaking it’s the dumping ground for the copious amounts of background information I have gathered during my many years of research. 

I have started off with material that is most relevant for supplementing the rest of the Guide.  Because the remaining information is so extensive and pertinent to a very limited amount of people I will only be posting additional details by request.  If you would like to see more background (including illustrations) on any aspect of this site please don’t hesitate to contact me.
